Election Expense Limits
Maximum Election Expenses
The maximum amount of election expense to be incurred in respect of a candidate at an election shall be -
"As specified in the Elections Act 2022 (S. 67), The maximum amount of election expenses to be incurred in respect of a candidate at an election shall be forty thousand dollars;"
Accounting for Election Spending
At the end of an Election, every candidate must account for all of that candidate's spending by or on behalf of the candidate in the conduct and management of election.
Filing Deadline
These returns respecting election expense have to be filed with the Supervisor of Elections within 35 days after the election results are declared.
Elections Act Provisions
Breach of the elections expense provisions in the Elections Act is an illegal offence, please refer to Part V of the Elections Act for the full provisions in regards to elections expense.
